In clinical practice, addictions and compulsive behaviors are maladaptive survival strategies rooted in trauma, attachment wounds, and dysregulated nervous systems. This advanced EMDR training gives trauma therapists a clear, neuro-informed pathway to integrate EMDR into addiction treatment, reduce relapse risk, and support sustainable recovery. We will cover the neurobiology of addiction, and how to use BuzzkillTM, an innovative protocol that unpairs unwanted behaviors from false positive narratives and replaces the unwanted behavior with more adaptive ones. This training will combine didactic information, video of Buzzkill in action with a real client, and the opportunity for live demonstration with participants. This program is ideal for clinicians who want to deepen their trauma therapist training with a practical, session-ready EMDR intervention specifically tailored to substance use, process addictions, and compulsive coping patterns.

How does the Alaska EMDR Network ensure trainings are accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities?
What is your policy for refunds?
- If requested more than 60 days from the event date, 75% of the ticket price minus any refunding fees will be returned.
- If requested 30-60 days from the event date, 50% of the ticket price minus any refunding fees will be returned.
- No refunds will be given within 30 days of the event date.

Our History
Laurel Siercy
FounderThe Alaska EMDR Network started with Laurel Siercy, our state representative. As EMDRIA grew, they removed those representatives; however, Laurel kept the EMDR community alive in Alaska with continued trainings and networking events.
Alex Lorian
Alexandra "Alex" Lorian quickly joined Laurel in supporting EMDR within Alaska, hosting many meetings in her office to help facilitate growth within the community.
Stacey Brown
Past PresidentIn 2020, Stacey Brown was voted in as President of the network as Laurel and Alex moved into a mentorship role. Over the next five years, Stacey was instrumental in the formation of Alaska EMDR Network, Inc. as a non-profit organization. There was tremendous growth during her term with the development of a website, the launch of our provider directory, and multiple trainings provided by leaders in the field.
